20 SUSTAINABILITY I CIRCULAR ECONOMY Sustainability and social responsibility are of central importance to the company management of Kunert Wellpappe For years Kunert Wellpappe has voluntarily submitted to auditing by EcoVadis in order to have the quality of its Corporate Social Responsibility management system and its commitment to sustainability evaluated This CSR audit takes into account a wide variety of non financial management criteria related to the environment labour human rights ethics and sustainable procure ment In its latest audit Kunert Wellpappe achieved a silver rating making it one of the industry s top performers CIRCULAR ECONOMY BACK TO THE BEGINNING Our materials chain ends where it begins with waste paper It is important to us to use our possibilities and products to contribute to the realisation of the circular economy Only recyclable adhesives without boric acid borax such as sodium silicate PVA glue or starch based adhesives are used in the production of paper cores Paul Co s paper cores are 100 recyclable and an important contribution to the circular econ omy Angular edge protectors and corru gated cardboard are also convincing with a sustainable and durable raw material base Corrugated cardboard is perfect for a circular economy and represents a major resource for paper manufacturing the backbone of paper recycling Today the paper fibres of corrugated cardboard can be recycled at least 20 times without the slightest loss in quality In Germany corrugated cardboard consists of at least 80 recycled paper and after use it is recycled for further re use The RESY recycling system ensures the disposal and material recycling of corrugat ed cardboard packaging and has contributed to a well functioning closed resource cycle Likewise all edge protector solutions from Paul Co are labelled with the Resy symbol CORPORATE SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY AUDIT KUNERT WELLPAPPE AWARDED A SILVER RATING BY ECOVADIS
